Joanna Lavoie
Joanna Lavoie is a Toronto-based bilingual, award-winning journalist with more than two decades of diverse experience. A graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Journalism Program, she currently works as a digital journalist at CP24 covering breaking news and social justice issues. Her byline can also be seen on CTV News Toronto and CTV National News stories.
Previously, Lavoie was a breaking news/social justice reporter for Torstar Corp.’s Toronto community news division (Metroland). Her articles also appeared on and in the Toronto Star and the Hamiton Spectator.
When not reporting, Lavoie occasionally speaks about her work, relevant topics, and the industry with students, groups, and other media outlets.
She is also a married mother of two daughters as well as a passionate Latin dancer, a devoted bonne vivante, and a fun-loving acroyogi.
